Dr. Taleisnik graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University and received his Medical Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He served a six-year general surgery residency at UCLA and received clinical experience in burn reconstruction at Shriners’ Hospital, Los Angeles. He then completed a residency in Plastic Surgery at UCLA. He culminated his training with a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the renowned Hand Center of San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Taleisnik is a Member of the American Society For Surgery of the Hand and American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Board certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Taleisnik has also received the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. He has numerous conference presentations to his credit both in the United States and Canada. Dr. Taleisnik has published a number of books and journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Practical Oncology, Plastic Surgery Forum, and the Journal of Trauma. His laboratory investigations during residency garnered the prestigious Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation Research Award, one of four awarded nationally each year.
Dr. Taleisnik is fluent in spoken and written Spanish, with conversational ability in French.
